Kids

We want to partner with parents as we teach kids and students to have hearts that love Jesus, minds that think like Jesus, and lives that follow Jesus.

This ministry serves the little ones in our church family, from infants to kindergartners. The Preschool Ministry is located on the first floor of our Children's Building. Please bring your baby or preschooler to the Welcome Center to check in on Sundays and Wednesdays.

About the Nursery

Nursery at Wilmer

Our nursery is designed for babies up to two years old. Even at this early age, we want each child to know that God made them and God loves them. We have caring volunteers who work in the nursery each week, and staff members who organize the nursery and preschool schedules and teaching. Babies may stay in the nursery during Sunday School (9:15-10:15) and the worship service (10:30-12:00).

Parents should bring their children to check in at the Preschool Welcome Center on the first floor of the Kids Building. For security, each child will receive two name tags-- one to wear and one to present at pick-up time. If it's your first time at Wilmer, we will also ask for a cell phone number so we can contact you in case your child needs you.

Bed Babies
  • Babies may come to this class at 6 weeks old and usually stay until they are able to walk. There are cribs for sleeping babies, and plenty of toys and rocking chairs. Parents should provide diapers, bottles, and baby food if needed. Babies will be fed according to parents' instructions. We also have a private room for nursing mothers.
  • Download our information form for bed babies. Please complete this form and return it to the Preschool Welcome Center so we have your updated information for our volunteers.
Creepers
  • The creepers class is perfect for babies who are walking and becoming independent. They have a great time playing, snacking, and riding in the bye-bye buggy! Parents should provide diapers, a bottle/sippy cup, and baby food if needed.
  • Download our information form for creepers.
Toddlers
  • This class is great for babies around 18-24 months old. Toddlers have snack, hands-on activities, and playtime in a loving, fun environment.

About Wilmer Preschool

Wilmer Preschool

Wilmer Preschool has classes for ages 2 through K5, with fun ways to learn about God on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. At each visit, kids will bring home something to help them remember what they learned- and to help parents talk about the lesson too!

Each age group has two dedicated Sunday School teachers who come each week to teach a story from the Bible. They use games, activities, and songs to help kids learn God's Word.

While parents attend the worship service, preschoolers get to worship at The Ark! In this large group, kids get to move around and sing praise songs to God. They watch a video-based Bible story that gets them to listen and answer questions about what they learn.

While parents attend midweek Bible Study groups, our preschoolers are learning God’s Word through song during preschool choir. Each class is learning foundational truths through hymns and other activities.

About wilmer Kids

Wilmer Kids

Welcome to Wilmer Kids! Wilmer Kids Ministry exists for children in grades 1-5. Our mission is to partner with parents as we teach kids to have hearts that love Jesus, minds that think like Jesus, and lives that follow Jesus.

To accomplish this mission, we have Sunday school, kids' worship services, and Wednesday night bible study. We use this time to emphasize the importance of God's written Word and to discuss how we can follow Him in our day-to-day lives.

"And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed Him."
  - Luke 5:11

Wilmer Kids meet upstairs in the Kids Building. If you are a first-time visitor, look out for our welcome team around campus in red polos on Sunday mornings for directions!

Sunday
  • Sunday School at 9:15
  • The Dock at 10:30
Wednesday
  • Dinner at 5:30
  • Bible Study at 6:30

We want to thank you all for allowing us to be a part of your child’s life! Each child is special and a gift from God and should be treated as such. The safety and well-being of all our children is one of our highest priorities and concerns. With this in mind, we are once again implementing the Security Sticker System. Our procedure will be as follows:

  • Family Check-In Kiosk
    • There is a single check-in station in the gym for families eating before services.
    • There are also two check-in stations in the children’s building foyer.
  • Children and parents will receive a sticker at check-in
  • There will be a children’s department volunteer to receive your child in the children’s building foyer.
  • Children’s check-out will be up the stairs on the second floor.
  • A parent will be required to present the matching security sticker to the children’s department volunteer upon receiving the child.

We thank you for your patience with the changes occurring in your child’s department! If you will, we also ask this of you.

  1. Pray daily for your children, asking God to bless the investment that has been made in them
  2. Pray for leaders and teachers in the children’s ministry
  3. Train your children in a way that will build and strengthen your homes (Deuteronomy 22:6)
  4. Encourage your children to show love and adoration for our Lord (Matthew 19:14)

We are blessed to be a part of this time in your child’s life. Watching them grow has been one of our greatest joys.

With love,
