The Wilmer Sports athletic program is a Co-Ed program for children ages K5 -12th grade and adults.

This ministry outreach program is for all children and adults in the surrounding areas of Wilmer, Semmes, Mobile, and Mississippi.

We are a developmental league, which means we emphasize teaching the sport, helping to develop skills, and encouraging a Christ-like attitude while on the field or court. This helps kids to focus on individual progress, have fun while doing something they enjoy, and to feel what it’s like to be part of a team.

The Sports and Recreation Ministry

Wilmer Sports was established with a firm foundation that all our efforts go towards our highest calling - lifting up the name of Jesus! Our goal is to love like Jesus, glorify His Name, and use the avenue of sports as a platform so that all will see that what we need most in this life is Him! Each week, players will hear their coaches pray for them and hear a devotion about Jesus in a small or large group setting. This is our mission: to use these gifts God has given us to glorify Him, so that ALL MAY KNOW HIM!

Sports Ministry
Scholarship

In Honor of Terry Glasscock

Wilmer Sports at Wilmer Baptist Church was created with a mission to reach others through the love of Christ. Our former Pastor, Terry Glasscock, along with a team of others, had a vision to minister to our community through sports. His life was devoted to uplifting and honoring the name of Jesus, and he believed this ministry was a powerful opportunity for our church to make a difference. Brother Terry had a deep love for people, especially children. He wanted every child to have the opportunity to be part of what God is doing at Wilmer. He firmly believed that finances should never prevent a child from participating. In honor of his legacy, we offer five scholarships each sports season to families who are unable to pay the standard registration fee. The opportunity to be part of a team while growing in the knowledge of Jesus is central to our mission, and we are committed to sharing that opportunity with as many as possible.
