What to Expect
If you're new to Wilmer, or thinking about visiting, you may be wondering what to expect when you come. Here you'll find some answers to questions many people have about Wilmer. Please contact us if you have a question that is not answered below.
- On Sundays, Sunday School classes for all ages begin at 9:15 AM. You can use the Small Groups Finder to browse Sunday School classes and get an idea of what may be right for you. When you arrive, a Connect Team member will welcome you and show you where you can find the classes for you and your kids.
- The worship service begins at 10:30 AM. It's best to arrive a little early because the worship center fills up quickly. There is seating on the floor of the church and in the balcony.
If you have a Bible, that's all you'll need to bring with you. The pastor teaches directly from God's Word each week, so bringing your own Bible will help you follow along. If you don't have a Bible to bring, that's okay. We often project the passages onto our screens, and Bibles can also be found in the seating areas.
- Babies and preschoolers should check in at the Wilmer Preschool registration desk on the first floor of Building D. Each child is given a name tag and each parent is given a matching label to present when they pick up their child. The volunteers at the registration desk will match your child to the appropriate class and show you where to go. More information about our nursery and preschool ministry.
- Children in 1st-5th grades should check in at the Wilmer Kidz registration desk on the second floor of Building D. Children's Ministry staff will be there to greet you and register your children. Kids have Sunday School and Worship in The Dock at 9:15 and 10:30 AM. More information about Wilmer Kidz Ministry.
During a service at Wilmer, you can expect to worship God through singing songs, celebrating baptism, hearing God's Word preached, praying together, and giving offerings. These are the main elements of our weekly service.
